The closest airport is Cherry Capital Airport (TVC) in Traverse City. Direct flights connect Philadelphia, Boston, and Minneapolis with easy one-stop options from farther out. From TVC, plan on a rental car and a scenic one-hour drive north along the Lake Michigan shoreline (US-31) into the Charlevoix area.

Charlevoix sits right on US-31, making it an easy drive from Northern Michigan and beyond, with Lake Michigan keeping you company for most of the way.

Prefer a home base of your own?
Charlevoix, Boyne City, and East Jordan all have a great selection of Airbnb/VRBO rentals right on Lake Charlevoix or Lake Michigan. It works especially well for families or groups traveling together. Search Airbnb or VRBO for the wedding weekend, July 15–18, 2027.
State Park Camping
Young and Petoskey State Park both have modern campgrounds with restrooms and showers. Fisherman's Island is beautiful but rustic, so know that before you pitch a tent there. Reserve a site directly through Michigan's state park reservation system. Each card below also links to that park's own info page.
